General Description: The private institution offers career-oriented degree programs with hands-on training in various fields of business and technology. Specifically, DeVry has programs in business administration, computer information systems or computer science, electronics, telecommunications management, technical management, information technology, and computer engineering technology. Special learning facilities include a learning resource center, computerized library services, database searching, and electronics lab.

DeVry University has achieved a 90% job placement success rate within 6 months of graduation. Online degree programs are available in business management, accounting, e-commerce, human resources management, health services management, nursing, medical assistant, dental assistant, hygienist, business information systems, operations management, project management, sales and marketing, information technology, client/server, mainframe computing, computer science, network administration, and information systems. Students attending DeVry can receive scholarships from the school or use their financial aid office to find lenders.

Student Population: There are no resident halls; all students commute. The average age of all undergraduates is 24.

Programs of Study: DeVry confers an associate, bachelor’s degree, and/or master’s degree. Bachelor’s degrees are awarded in Biological Science (bioinformatics), business (business administration and management), Communications and the Arts (telecommunications), computer and physical science (information sciences and systems), Engineering and Environmental Design (biomedical engineering, computer engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, and technological management).

To graduate, students must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, and complete all courses outlined in the program. All first semester students mandatorily take courses in business organization, computer applications, algebra, psychology, and student success strategies.

Special programs include accelerated degrees, co-op programs, non-degree study, and evening and weekend classes are available.

Requirements for Acceptance: Applicants must pass the DeVry entrance exam or present satisfactory SAT or ACT scores. An interview is required, and DeVry requires applicants to be in the top 50% of their class or have a GPA of 2.7. Applicants must all have an average grade of at least a B (80%) in a full year’s high school mathematics course at a level of Algebra I or above.

Freshman are admitted throughout the year, and may defer admission plans if need be. Application fee is $50, and are accepted online.
