General Description: Founded in 1852 as part of the State of Pennsylvania University system, California State University of Pennsylvania is accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and numerous other professional accrediting agencies. Approximately 80% of students are commuters, tuition is about $6,700, ($9,800 for out-of-state students) and 78% of students were accepted.

Online bachelors offerings include a bachelor of science degree in science and technology: legal studies, and bachelor of science in sport management: fitness & wellness.

Online continuing education post masters certificates are awarded in performance enhancement and injury prevention, rehabilitation science, sport psychology, wellness and fitness, and superintendent letter of eligibility.

Requirements for Acceptance: The SAT is required with a minimum combined score of 870 (400 verbal, 400 math). The ACT may be used as a substitute, with a minimum score of 20. Applicants should submit an academic record that includes 4 credits in English and History, 3 each in math and academic electives, 2 in science, and 1 each in social studies and a foreign language. An essay and interview are recommended. A GPA of 2.5 is required. AP and CLEP credits are accepted.

The College of Education and Human Services

The principle goal of the College of Education and Human Services is to maintain a diversity of contemporary curricula appropriate for the preparation of new teachers and the improvement of teachers already in the field. In addition, the College sponsors the development and delivery of a variety of special programs for the purpose of educating practitioners in a number of human service areas.
